INDIC began more than a decade ago with a simple question: Why should marine equipment validated by the international military be sold in India, when India can create its own products, validated by the Indian military, and trusted by the world? That question, born from a deep sense of national pride, became a conviction. And that conviction became INDIC.
The name INDIC was chosen with intent. INDIC speaks of India’s identity, heritage and pride, but also of something deeper. At the heart of the INDIC identity is a single character drawn from the Indic scripts;’ang’, the syllable that means breath, the breath of air. It is a deliberate choice, and a profound one.
INDIC’s sole purpose is to deliver a soldier’s next breath under the pressure of the deep, so no symbol could be more literal, or more sacred.
The character has been intentionally rendered not as calligraphy, but as an insignia, housed within a disciplined circular medallion that echoes of service badges, dive tabs, and unit crests worn by the armed forces.
INDIC is not a lifestyle brand borrowing military aesthetics. It is built for the forces, and its emblem had to carry the same weight, precision and gravity as the insignia our soldiers have pledged their
lives to.
The deep, saturated blue, inspired by naval ensigns and the immeasurable depth of the ocean itself, therefore, evokes both service and sea. It speaks of depth, discipline and dependability, while quietly carrying the spirit of the Tricolour: understated, confident, and unmistakably Indian.
Paired with the bold, engineered wordmark, the medallion becomes more than a logo: it is a pledge.
